Ginting's BIOGinting is an female elephant who is over 30 years of age. Ginting has a male baby named Chrisna who was afraid to see humans for the first time whilst his mum Ginting was being fitted with her GPS tracking collar! Chrisna however relaxed quickly and started to drink milk while the team worked on attaching the special collar which sends the IEP team position data about their movements, allowing the monitoring and safeguarding of Ginting, her baby and the entire herd.
After Ginting's collar was attached and measurements taken, Ginting and Chrisna moved on, rejoining with their herd. Ginting and Chrisna are part of a large herd of over 20 elephants.
