orest concession, but large-scale clear cutting and widespread forest fires have destroyed most of Freda’s original habitat. In order to search for food, Freda and the herd moved eastwards, into the southern buffer of the Bukit Tigapuluh National Park, where they sometimes join with Indah’s herd for a few weeks.
IEP is working on measures to improve habitat quality within Freda’s range, in order to minimize the human/elephant conflict and hopefully allow a better and safer life for Freda and her herd in the future.
By adopting Freda today, you are helping fund our activities to protect her and her friends from the threats they face. You will receive regular updates on their progress as they are cared for in our facilities, with the hope of eventually returing to the jungle.
Depending on the adoption package you purchase you will receive
an adoption pack for yourself or your loved ones.
