Thanks to your generous support, our Wildlife Ambulance team has been busy helping some of the world’s most amazing animals – wild elephants!
So far this year, the Wildlife Ambulance has made 22 field visits across the forests and farmland of Aceh and Lampung in Sumatra. These rescue and care missions lasted from one to seven days – a total of 37 full days caring for elephants in need.
Most visits were to help sick or injured elephants, including rescued baby calves in need of urgent care. Two young calves received regular health checks, medicine, and special nutrients. They were also given infant milk and vitamins to help them grow strong and healthy.

One exciting moment for the team was placing a GPS collar on a wild elephant. This special collar helps track the elephant’s movements, keeping it safe from danger and helping us better understand how elephants live in the wild.
Our dedicated vet team also treated two wild elephants who were badly injured. Sadly, one elephant with a broken leg didn’t survive. But the other made a full recovery and was safely moved from farmland back to a protected forest.
We are so grateful for your support! You're helping to keep the Wildlife Ambulance in the field, giving every elephant the best chance of survival. We couldn’t do this important work without you – so thank you!
Training Tomorrow’s Wildlife Heroes
Your support also helps train future wildlife vets!
Our team recently held two important seminars. One on elephant health care, and another on wildlife crime and first aid for small apes and primates. 42 final-year veterinary students and five lecturers took part. They learned key skills to help protect animals in the wild.

Plus, 19 students completed their four-week internships at wildlife care centres. These future vets are now one step closer to helping animals in need across Indonesia and beyond!
Every rescue, every recovery, and every student trained is possible because of you. Thank you for standing with us and giving elephants the care and protection they deserve. 🐘💚
